Beginning Novice Obedience

The Beginning Novice class is for dogs 6 months and older. This class is accelerated; all that is learned in Puppy class is covered in less than 6 classes, even for the new dogs.

The exercises of heeling, standing, coming, staying and down are taught. The goal is to get a consistent response on the first command. The handlers are taught by showing and doing. All exercises are trained in a step-by-step progression. There are no hard or harsh physical corrections. By the end of 13 weeks, if you work a short time every day, your dog will be doing healing off leash and coming when called. The handler and dog may be ready to enter in obedience trials, earning "legs" towards an obedience title from the American Kennel Club, if they so desire.
